Potter Publishers exists because hybrid publishing has a transparency problem. Most "hybrid" publishers charge an upfront fee, then keep a cut of your royalties for the life of the book. We do not. Authors pay once for the services they choose, we deliver the work, and every dollar their book earns afterward goes to them. Our team is based in Lexington, Kentucky and Toronto, Ontario, with editors, designers, ghostwriters, and marketing specialists working across both locations.
Our editors come from trade publishing, academic publishing, and indie-imprint backgrounds. They handle developmental edits, line edits, copy edits, and proofreads. Genre coverage spans literary fiction, thriller, romance, memoir, business non-fiction, self-help, and children's literature.
Cover designers and interior typesetters working in InDesign, Affinity Publisher, and Adobe Illustrator. Every cover is delivered as a print-ready PDF (with correct spine width for your page count), an Amazon-spec ebook thumbnail, and source files. Children's-book illustration work is delivered in both spread and individual page formats.
Our marketing team runs Amazon Ads campaigns, BookBub feature submissions, and launch-week coordination. The distribution side handles retailer account setup (Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Apple Books, Kobo, Audible ACX), ISBN registration in the author's name, and metadata optimization for category placement.
“I wasn’t really sure where to start with publishing my book, but Potter Publishers helped me figure it out step by step. They were easy to talk to and kept things simple.”
